" Our vision for downtown Flint is a unique, vibrant, safe central district with distinctive architecture, quality services and commerce including dining, arts, entertainment, living spaces and green space that attracts a diverse population from a broad region."

*Unusual / artistic storefronts
*More and diverse restaurants
*More and diverse entertainment and theatres
*Diverse pedestrian population
*Improved streets and streetscapes throughout the district
*More historical restorations
*Downtown as a dining destination
*Good book / print shops
*Attracts people from other cities
*A downtown high school specializing in the arts
*More public art both murals and sculptures
*More college oriented stores
*A town square with plenty of green space (like the "diag" in Ann Arbor)
*A block of ethnic markets
*Connections / pathways to neighborhoods
*A positive identity
*Shuttles connecting downtown to Flint Cultural Center, Kettering, Mott College and City Market
*Capitol Theater historically renovated and active
*State Theater historically renovated and active
*Better public transportation
*An Art and Garden Festival
*More Festivals
*A jazz café’
*A large hotel and convention center
*Restructured parking
*Thriving creative culture (ie. artists, writers, film makers)
*People staying downtown after church on Sundays
*Basic retail services (dry cleaner, drug store, grocery / deli)
*More public and private galleries
*Responsive media
*Spontaneous meetings with friends and associates
*More art venues
*Durant Hotel historically restored, open and active with ballroom available
*Public sports
*An X-games park and tournament
*Photography galleries and retail
*"Way-finding" and aesthetic details
*Fully renovated and operational Riverbank Park with all fountains and other amenities working
*Living work space for artists
*Expanded and more frequent art walks
*Diverse living spaces
*Mix of commerce with mass appeal
*Fountains - running water
*Well maintained public rest rooms
*Free cultural events
