Greater Flint Area Community Cultural Plan

Youth & The Arts Task Force

Meeting - 2/25/04

Our vision for arts and culture for youth is that all youth will experience ever-evolving, diverse, integrated art forms along with a supporting, participating community.

Participants: Lila Bjaland, Erin Curell, Mary Gray, Marti Everett, Jan Hartranft, Rhetta Hunyady, James Jones, Diane Kirksey, Jack LeSage, Michael Melet, Sue Miller, Lea Polinger-Hyman, Cheryl Rogers.

Next Steps:

Our group felt that more input and participation was needed from the community: youth (resource: Greater Flint Youth Coalition?), parents, decision-makers. Michael Melet will draft a set of questions that members of our group will use to gather more ideas from our community and bring to the next meeting. Members of our group are encouraged to attend local arts events and inform each other:

• Neo Griot will perform at The Lunch Studio, 444 S. Saginaw on Saturday, 2.28.04. 9:00 - 12:00 pm.
